Dutch Edam cheese is a true example of the renowned Dutch cheese making prowess. Known for its distinctive red wax coating, our imported Dutch Edam has a slightly spicy aroma and easy taste with a slightly salty flavor lingering on the palate. True Edam is made from partially skimmed, pasteurized milk and thus has a relatively low fat content. Named after the town of Edam in the north of the Netherlands, our gourmet Edam is imported directly from The Netherlands, and is not an American or other imitation of the real Edam; as are many of the so called "Edam" cheeses in the market place. Befitting a cheese made from a Dutch tradition dating to the seventeenth century, try our gourmet Edam cheese and you won't be disappointed.
